Burton Agnes Hall Snowdrops & Bridlington

Wrap up warmly this winter and enjoy the breathtaking display of snowdrops at Burton Agnes Hall, which runs from 7th February until 1st March (11am to 4pm) each day.

Every February, millions of hardy snowdrops push through the cold winter ground to create a magnificent ‘white carpet’ across the woodland floor at the Cunliffe-Listers’ Elizabethan family home.

The snowdrop walk makes a truly memorable day out at the end of a long winter. The beautiful little flowers are such a welcome sight, and grow in numbers each year. This biblical symbol of hope reminds us that winter eventually gives way to spring, and announces the new season.

After enjoying the charming sight of the snowdrops, visitors are welcomed to the courtyard, where you can find scrumptious locally roasted Fairtrade coffees and speciality teas, home-baked treats and warming meals. The Home & Garden Shop and Gift Shop will be packed with the new season’s stock for a perfect gift or treat. Galanthophiles may also like to buy some Burton Agnes-propagated snowdrops ‘in the green’, which is the best way of building a collection.

If you’re looking for a leisurely day out, how about visiting the elegant promenades of bright and breezy Bridlington? With its sandy beaches, award-winning promenades and historic harbour, this is a hidden seaside gem awash with kitsch traditional entertainment. Visit the funfair, amusements and donkey rides on the beach for a traditional British day out with seaside in spades!

Why not visit Park Rose Pottery, Cruckley Animal Farm, Bridlington Heritage Museum, Sailing from the beach, Burton Agnes Hall or perhaps Bondville Miniature Village. If you are with your family then maybe a visit to the Leisure World, John Bull World of Rock and the Beside The Seaside Museum would be more suitable.

After all the sight seeing, why not pop into the 60’s coffee bar for a relaxing break a bite to eat from their themed menu’s and have a coffee. The town boasts a superb shopping complex and two excellent full 18 hole golf courses. The seafront road-train takes visitors to all the traditional attractions, including funfairs and amusement arcades and for those times when the sun is behind the clouds you could visit the forum complex.
