The Blue John Cavern is in itself a series of caverns considered to be the finest range in Great Britain! It is of immense educational interest showing so very clearly how caverns are formed in the limestone strata, and how the limestone itself had much earlier been formed by the deposits on the floors of great oceans, which have long receded, as the fossilised remains of marine animals now show.

 

We have great facilities including our cafe (open at weekends) to enjoy a light snack before or after your tour of the cavern. The majority of trips return from destination between 16:30 and 17:30. The driver will inform you of the exact time on the day, dependant on outward travel times. Whilst we do not guarantee a W/C on board most of our excursion fleet do have toilet facilities.
